CGC-certified Giant-Size X-Men #1 Offered in ComicLink's June Sale
Posted on 16/06/2025
Collectors can find some mighty Marvel deals, including some of the most famous Silver Age keys and first appearances, graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®), in ComicLink Premium Auction on June 16, 2025.
Among the CGC-certified highlights in this sale is a Giant-Size-X-Men #1 graded CGC 9.8. Published in 1975, Giant-Size X-Men #1 played a critical role in revitalizing the X-Men franchise. Written by Len Wein and illustrated by Dave Cockrum, this comic introduced a new, diverse X-men lineup, which now included Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird and Wolverine. This issue is particularly significant as it not only injected fresh energy and multiculturalism into the series but also laid the foundation for future story arcs and character developments, ultimately ensuring the X-Men's place as a cornerstone of the Marvel Universe. There are 14,457 examples of Giant-Size X-Men #1 in the CGC Census, and 275 in grade 9.8.
Also offered is an Amazing Fantasy #15 graded CGC 3.0. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko revolutionized the superhero genre in 1962 when they introduced Spider-Man in this final issue of Amazing Fantasy. Superheroes up until that point were always adults, while the teenager was their sidekick. With Spider-Man, Lee said he wanted to create a teen hero who was more than a sidekick — a gamble that quickly paid off. Over the decades, Spider-Man has grown into one of the most beloved and recognizable characters in the world. There are 4,027 examples of this comic in the CGC Census, and 442 in grade 3.0.
